Why so much Theory?

Theory:
if you know everything...
In the following chapters you will find first a few theoretical explanations. You might ask yourself why I wrote so much about theory. To put it simply, people are the most complicate lifeform we know of (that includes you and me). In school and even in university we don't learn much about ourselves or other people, but we have to handle them anyway.

As a software developer, I like to know how things work. Otherwise, I would have chosen another profession. As a psychologist, I like to know why people (including me) behave as they do. This curiosity leads us to a theory about behaviour. A good theory about software development can lead you to a better programming practice, as you might know from experience.

...but nothing works... A bad theory might lead you to nothing. But still, a bad theory is often better than no theory at all. All people have a certain outlook on life. Without this, they are helpless. This outlook on life is uncomplete and most certainly wrong, but still, a false philosophy is better than no philosophy, because you will live without a guidance.
Practice:
it works, but...
If you know how to handle people, good. But even an uncomplete theory about people might improve your consciousness about people, and therefore improve the way you treat them.
...you don't know why And because we all work in teams we all should know how to treat people right. This will improve your living in a way you might not dream of. And to gain the knowledge you need you have to face some theories.
